Overview
Ash is a high-precision Skirmisher in Apex Legends, designed for calculated aggression and swift repositioning. Introduced in Season 11, she can be unlocked using Legend Tokens or Apex Coins. Ash thrives when setting the pace of engagements, locking down priority targets, and instantly cutting distance with a one-way portal.

Core details: Real name Ashleigh Reid; simulacrum body; class Skirmisher. Her toolkit rewards smart timing—snaring enemies at the perfect moment, tracking killers via Death Boxes, and breaching for decisive flanks or retreats.
Abilities
Arc Snare (Tactical)
- Throw a spinning device that damages the first enemy who approaches and tethers them briefly, slowing attempts to escape the snare’s radius.
- Effective for area denial, door control, and pinning wounded enemies long enough to finish the fight.
- Cooldown: about 20 seconds following balance updates; can be used off-hand without movement penalties.
Marked for Death (Passive)
- Recent Death Boxes appear on Ash’s map, allowing long-range pings.
- Interact with a Death Box to reveal the surviving attackers’ location for a short window (once per box).
- Great for third-party timing, deciding rotations, or tracking squads that eliminated your teammates.
Phase Breach (Ultimate)
- Slice open a one-way portal to a targeted location at medium range; Ash immediately phases through it on cast.
- Lasts briefly, enabling fast commitments, reposition plays, or split-second escapes.
- Pair with Arc Snare for a rapid catch-and-collapse on isolated enemies.
Legend Upgrades
In Battle Royale (from Season 20 onward), Legend Upgrades offer two perk tiers as you level your Evo Armor. Choose one per tier:
Level 2 options
- Murder Machine: After a squad wipe, Ash calls out the number of nearby squads within 150m.
- One Minute to Live: Marked for Death reveals for an extended duration (up to 60s).
Level 3 options
- Greedy Snare: Arc Snare can tether multiple enemies and lasts longer.
- Twin Snares: Grants an additional Arc Snare charge.
Lore
Raised on the Frontier, Dr. Ashleigh Reid learned to rely on herself—perfecting manipulation and psychological warfare long before becoming a simulacrum. Hired to infiltrate an Outlands lab in Olympus, Reid engineered a theft that imploded with catastrophic results. Her brain survived inside a simulacrum shell, but trauma fractured her identity: the cold, ruthless “Ash” emerged, while Leigh’s vulnerable humanity was buried.
After a fateful encounter with Horizon and cracks forming in her programming, Ash enters the Apex Games not just to dominate—but to prove she has transcended humanity itself. Leigh, meanwhile, refuses to let that be the truth.
