Abilities
Echo Relocation (Tactical)
Position your winged companion Echo, then launch toward him. A direct line of sight to Echo is required to complete the launch.
Cooldown: 20 seconds
How it works
- Tapping the tactical button deploys or repositions Echo; holding it launches toward Echo if he is out. A separate input recalls him.
- If Echo isn’t out, holding the tactical deploys him about 35m ahead and preps a launch.
- Deploying, moving, and recalling Echo can be done while performing other actions (except reviving).
- Echo moves in the reticle’s direction and stops ~40m from the use location. Targeting ground makes him hover about 5m above it.
- Echo follows Vantage if she moves more than ~55m away. He can’t be destroyed and persists until recalled.
- Launching takes ~1 second and fails if line of sight is broken at the end of the animation (looking away or riding a zipline can break LOS).
- Pressing crouch midair disables boosters. Double jump at Echo for a directional boost and extra distance.
Interactions and notes
- Echo moves in straight lines and can clip through geometry while following. He may temporarily be outside the map bounds.
- Echo is highly visible to enemies due to a bright flare. Keep him hidden or recalled when stealth is needed.
- Recalling Echo just before double jumping helps maintain momentum, especially with the Bat Bounce perk.
Spotter’s Lens (Passive)
Aim down sights to scout using Vantage’s eyepiece (unarmed or with mid- to long-range optics). A bullet drop indicator shows where shots will land, and enemy info displays when a target is highlighted.
Core details
- Vantage can scope while unarmed with a 3x zoom to activate the passive.
- With weapons, compatible optics are generally 2x and higher (some exceptions apply). A HUD icon indicates compatibility.
- When an enemy is within the large blue reticle box, a smaller marker highlights them and activates the drop indicator. You’ll see the Legend’s name, distance, and teammates’ shield tiers.
- Only one enemy’s info shows at a time, prioritizing the target closest to your reticle. Pings report armor type and squad size.
- Pickup range scales with zoom (approx. 175m at 2x, 200m at 3x, 250m at 4x, 450m at 8x). Some light obstructions (windows, foliage) are tolerated.
Interactions and tips
- Highlights can distinguish Mirage decoys and scan through smoke; you’ll get info and bullet drop cues but not enemy outlines through smoke or glass.
- Passive scanning while sliding, ziplining, or in-air can feed your team intel without sacrificing mobility.
- As soon as an enemy’s armor indicator appears, ping to quickly share accurate info.
Sniper’s Mark (Ultimate)
Use a custom sniper rifle that marks enemies on hit, increasing the damage they take from your team while the mark lasts.
Charge time: 4 minutes (gains 1 round every 40 seconds; up to 6 rounds)
Functionality
- Earns 1 bullet per 20% ultimate charge; can fire whenever there’s at least 1 round.
- Custom 3x–8x optic (toggleable) and compatible with Spotter’s Lens.
- A visible laser projects while aiming: orange to enemies, blue to allies.
- On hit: deals 50 base damage (1.5x headshots) and marks the target for 10 seconds.
- Marked enemies take +15% damage from all sources except additional Sniper’s Mark shots, which deal +150% damage. Up to 5 enemies can be marked at once.
- Bullets are large and forgiving at long range; the scope above 4x also benefits from aim assist on supported platforms.
Usage notes
- Ultimate Accelerants used from the inventory add enough charge for 2 rounds if the rifle has ammo available.
- Door handles can be shot to open doors remotely.
- The rifle’s laser can reveal your position but also pressure enemies into cover.
- As rings close, consider pairing the ultimate with two versatile weapons instead of carrying a dedicated sniper.
Legend Upgrades
Legend Upgrades are perks introduced in Season 20 for Battle Royale. They unlock as you level your Evo Armor. Choose one option at each level, up to two total.
Level 2
- Ringmaster: Gain access to Ring Consoles.
- Ultimate Reload: Ultimate Accelerants grant +2 bullets.
Level 3
- Bat Bounce: Improves Echo Relocation double-jump.
- Sharpshooter: Hitting with Sniper’s Mark refreshes Echo Relocation.
Lore
Xiomara “Mara” Contreras grew up on the frozen world of Págos, raised by her survivalist mother, Xenia. From a young age she excelled with a rifle. After discovering the wreck of the G.D.S. Vantage, Mara learned that Xenia had arrived on Págos aboard a prison transport. A collapse trapped Mara in the ship’s crevasse, and to save her, Xenia triggered the SOS—only to be imprisoned again.
When Mara recovered, she vowed to free her mother. Unable to return to Págos and struggling to fit into society, Mara entered the Apex Games as “Vantage.” The arena offered both a familiar test of survival and a platform to draw attention to Xenia’s case. Now, the question is whether a kid from a barren ice world can thrive under the brightest spotlight.
